Position Overview/Summary:

Process Innovation Specialist: Develop, facilitate and implement Lean/Six-Sigma activities with the goal of improving productivity, reducing scrap and rework and reducing cycle time. Focus will be on Engineering and Drafting, with projects addressing a wide range, including: implementing standard work, developing internal-to-engineering efficiencies, improving order configuration and entry, and supporting manufacturing through drafting documentation updates. The objective is to lower costs through said productivity improvements and reduce waste. Will take a direct, hands-on role in helping to identify opportunities, facilitate action plans and driving improvements to completion. Successful candidates must be able to effectively utilize resources that are not directly under their control to achieve both individual and team goals. Successful candidate will be responsible for training both hourly and salaried employees in lean enterprise systems and procedures.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

Required:

Minimum of a Bachelors degree
Preferred:

Masters in Manufacturing Management

*
2 years experience with lean or quality systems, depending on background and education
*
2 years experience in engineering or manufacturing operations

Position requires independent thinking and facilitation skills Flexibility in problem solving approach requiring cross-departmental interaction, technical challenges and workload/schedule constraints Certification in Six-Sigma methodologies is a positive

Ability to sell innovations Must be an out-of-the-box thinker

Possess teambuilding skills and the ability to gain consensus

Project management and team leadership skills a plus

Statistical and financial understanding and possess strong math skills

Experience in utilizing Lean and Six-Sigma to drive continuous improvements

Excellent communication skills and a team player mentality

Familiarity with Engineering and Drafting requirements and tools
*
Aid in achieving continuous and break-through innovations and process improvements, often acting as either team leader or facilitator Interact with various technical work groups, supervisors and managers in engineering operations across North American Operations (NAO)
*
Monitor, coordinate, develop, and implement PI tools in NAO
*
Drive implementation of corrective action plans to improve product and process quality, productivity, and cycle time reduction
*
Evaluate and resolve problems in all engineering areas of the company
*
Drive productivity improvement in all engineering processes, constantly working toward process standardization Work within the guidelines of the quality system
