Position Overview/Summary:
Achieve the forecasted IGT Field Service bookings, sales and SVM, on Turnkey (FS, Repairs and Parts) and Time and Material projects. Deliver a high technical and professional level of Service to customers in the EMEA region, with significant focus on safety and quality. Develop and manage good customer relationships through the provision of Technical Excellence and professional customer management.
Interface and provide support to
* D-R Account Managers
* D-R Project Managers
* Leading Edge Client Service Managers
* Leading Edge Business Development Managers
Develop Project proposals including but not limited to:
* Technical content Execution Plan Pricing (Cost, Sales, and SVM )
* Payment Terms Work to exceed the customers expectations.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required:
* H.N.C. / H.N.D. or equivalent.
* Time served as Indentured Mechanical Apprenticeship to a recognized National Standard.
* Fully qualified for Technical Direction and Project Management for (IGT) Industrial Gas Turbines.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Major combustion and hot gas inspections.
* Comprehensive mechanical experience of installing and commissioning IGT packages.
* Comprehensive mechanical experience of executing major overhaul and maintenance on IGT packages Ability to investigate and solve reported problems on IGT packages Experience in stripping down mechanical assemblies into component parts, and rebuilding using best industry practices.
* Ability to interpret P&ID’s, engineering drawings, GA’s, etc to aid technical excellence in the field.
* Able to produce detailed reports of site activities and recommendations.
* Ability to supervise others at site during installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
* Extensive experience either in a Technical Advisory or Project Management role within the IGT market.
* Ideally have good customer relations in the IGT Industry. Organized, motivated and able to accomplish goals within a matrix management structure Must possess excellent communication skills (Oral and Written) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
* Ability to travel globally on a frequent basis which includes taking short, medium and long haul flights.
* Able to stay away from home for periods of up to 12 weeks at a time.
* Adapt to various site and accommodation conditions Be available to travel at short notice.
Preferred:
* Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
* Ensure the customer operates and maintains IGT packages and Dresser–Rand supplied equipment to the high standard required as out lined in the instruction Manual.
* The same can extend to other OEM rotating and reciprocating equipment also.
* Provide written and verbal technical assistance and advice to the customers operations and maintenance personnel.
* Provide detailed site reports for Dresser-Rand and the customer.
* Maintain regular communications with the Technical Services and Field Project Management groups.
* Ensure personal presentation and behavior is professional at all times, including the wearing of company provided work wear. Develop local labour provider agreements, to ensure projects can be resourced with the best cost effective and technically adept solution.
* Supervise the activities of Dresser-Rand supplied Technicians and customer supplied labour Manage and control sub-vendor and sub-contractor personnel and their assigned activities Organize and manage tooling, consumables and parts required to execute the project at site.
* Follow up the repair and overhaul as necessary at the designated IGT Repair shop.
* Whilst at site and in D-R facilities, observe health and safety procedures and policies.
* Ensure any complaints from customers are managed professionally, and diligently addressed to provide a positive outcome.
* Whilst at site, explore opportunities for Service growth, and ensure that the customer is aware of D-R Service capabilities, and facilities available to him at Dresser-Rand Service Centres To put into practice the technical instructions outlined in manuals and work scopes.
* To navigate through manuals and technical drawings and diagrams to find information when required.
* Use your own or others past experience to help provide a solution to complete the given task.
