* Manage manufacturing engineers, work schedules and budgets related to the design or purchase, integration, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems
* Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration activities.
* Analyze and approve all new, revised, or modified product designs prior to release to assure the design meets the objectives of manufacturing feasibility and minimum costs.
* Develop and implement a review of existing products and designs to assure all aspects of manufacturing feasibility are met at the lowest cost. 
* Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan an assess the feasibility of projects.
* Implement manufacturing engineering studies to identify and correct manufacturing deficiencies that impede the Division's capabilities to produce equipment in accordance with specifications and shipping schedules.
* Establish they type and sequence of operations and the prescribed methods and time standards for machining.
* Review and determine the feasibility of in-house manufacture or subcontracting of components and parts.
* Develop and implement plans to increase yield of manufacturing activities by reducing lost time, materials, space and improvements in equipment, processes, methods and procedures.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

* Purchase technical parts and services at best savings and value for the company and affiliates.

* Maintains the integrity of purchasing data on the computer based planning system with error free transactions.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Required to finalize the scope of supply of all equipment purchased by our client; to place major buyout equipment on order, translate customer requirements into Dresser-Rand documentation for the purpose of project execution

Direct and coordinate the activities of various engineering groups to ensure contract specifications / requirements are met and are consistent with established price and delivery requirements

Provide technical support and warranty account administration for equipment supplied by Dresser-Rand Olean operations from the time of shipment through the warranty period

- Demonstrate leadership qualities by facilitating commodity teams and a supplier scorecard process.

* Participate with the other Process Innovation (PI) leaders in developing standard work for priority setting for projects and a process to execute

* Ensure that the priority projects are completed on time and with intended results

Position Overview/Summary:

To provide performance support and aerodynamic design support for centrifugal compressors.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

Required:
* B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Discipline
* Experience with compressor multistage and single stage performance prediction tools
* Knowledge of compressor flowpath aerodynamics
* Understanding of thermodynamics and performance prediction for compressors
* Centrifugal compressor design experience is desirable
* Understanding of client applications and processes
* Knowledge of gas properties and equations of state is desirable
Position Responsibilities and Duties:

* Perform aerodynamic and performance calculations for contracts, sales files, and aftermarket activities
* Select and/or design centrifugal compressor components
* Ensure that centrifugal compressors meet contractual performance requirements
* Participate in performance problem resolution
* Track performance and recommend modifications/enhancements to performance predictions

Position Overview/Summary:

The Solid Mechanics group supervisor is responsible to oversee the Solid Mechanics group. In this capacity the supervisor will perform or oversee others as they perform these responsibilities:

Overseeing, maintaining and guiding the technical expertise necessary to determine and improve the static, dynamic, and thermal characteristics of Dresser-Rand products. Maintaining definition of the rules and procedures to be used for Solid mechanics prediction, and to continually improve the accuracy of methods and criteria for industrial steam and gas turbines and centrifugal compressors. Documentation of these rules in the compressor design manual or other specifications.

Making design recommendations to provide acceptable stress and deflection behavior of Dresser-Rand products and to help resolve difficult or unusual product design engineering problems.

Providing functional specifications, acceptance testing, and on-going validation for Dresser-Rand’s proprietary solid mechanics software (SmartStress, etc.). Training others in the proper use of the software. Monitoring use of the software to ensure that it is used as intended.

Initiating and supporting new designs or development projects requiring Solid Mechanics expertise. Propose new or modified design changes based on analytical studies and/or test stand/ field experiences.

Providing consultation to other parts of the organization such as: field service engineering, test engineering, aftermarket, product design, marketing, etc.

Promoting D-R technology through customer interaction, technical papers, patents and presentations.

Establishing goals, objectives and priorities of group members. Monitoring performance to those goals and providing feedback to the employee and management. Mentoring group members. Conducting team member performance appraisals. Provides day to day oversight of team member assignments/Capacity plans..

Approving all technical work originating from the group or assigning a peer to approve such. 

Administering and reviewing engineering or related work provide by outside consultants. Determines if methods, procedures, and results developed by outside consultants are analytically sound.
Supporting and maintaining relationships with outside universities that conduct Solid Mechanics research and testing.

Recommending acquisition of outside technology. Monitoring competition for any changes that may be occurring in the art of analysis engineering.


Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

Required:
* MSME Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil or Structural Engineering.
* 10 years solid mechanics design and evaluation of industrial turbomachinery.
* Experience in Stress design and evaluation of industrial turbomachinery.
* Experience with ANSYS computer codes that are commercially available and microsoft office.
Preferred:
* Ph.D. in Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil or Structural Engineering.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Duties Include:
* Solid Mechanics design, analysis, and troubleshooting of centrifugal gas compressors, gas and steam turbines.
* Ability to clearly and precisely communicate, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization and with clients.
* Candidate should be self-motivated, well organized and able to prioritize work.
* Must have good interpersonal and presentation skills for use in working with customers, sales, test, service and other engineering personnel, as well as desire to establish/maintain credibility among both customers and those in the worldwide technical community.
