Position Overview/Summary:
The Machinist will support the repair operations of the Midland-Odessa Service Center through rough and finish machining of parts.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required:
* High School Diploma or GED
* A minimum of 5 years related experience
* Demonstrated capabilities to operate multiple manual machine tools including but not limited to standard and vertical lathes, & mills.
* Ability and knowledge with utilizing standard inspection and measurement instruments.
* Knowledge of blueprints/blueprint reading and general machining tolerances
* Ability to select proper cutting tools and parameters for various material alloys
* Ability to solve set-up and tooling problems with minimal technical supervision
* Above average written & verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare factual job reports and/or sketches of work performed
Preferred:
* Experience with Horizontal boring machines and cylindrical grinders
* 10 years of related experience
Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide knowledge and varied manual machining capabilities utilizing general machining practices and optimum utilization of the tooling/set-ups required with minimal direct supervision
*
Provide personal tooling and measuring instruments required for general machine shop use
*
Prepare factual job reports and/or sketches of work performed
*
Operate multiple manual machine tools including but not limited to standard and vertical lathes, & mills
