Position Overview/Summary:
The Principle Solutions Architect will envision and design robust information technology solutions that include hardware, software, data, and network components by analyzing requirements and using breadth and depth of knowledge and experience in several IT disciplines to create and deliver those solutions.
Additionally, to direct theactivities associated with translating requirements into integrated solutions, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in establishing the technical elements of the global IT strategy and the tactical delivery of solutions to realize that strategy.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required:
*
A Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Manufacturing Operations, Information Systems or Computer Science.
*
15 years of experience in delivering significant information technology-based solutions (including not limited to ERP Systems, EAI Projects and manufacturing controls/engineering systems).
Technical Requirements and Experience:
*
Internet development and deployment experience (developing system, network, security, application architectures for Intranet, Extranet, or Internet applications).
*
Server management, sizing, and administration across a variety of processor and server architectures (i.e. RISC, x86, Mainframe, Open Systems, HP/UX, AIX, Linux, Solaris, etc.).
*
ERP vendors and products and implementations (Oracle, Siebel, SAP, JD Edwards)/
*
Security standards, architectures and protocols: PKI, certificate management, directory servers (DNS, LDAP, Activity Directory, Novell NDS), encryption technologies, authentication and authorization technologies, Java security framework.
*
Networking standards and protocols: Frame Relay, ATM, TCP and UDP protocols, wide area networks, wireless networks, network capacity planning, network management. Knowledge of firewall, switch and router manufacturers (Cisco, Nortel, CheckPoint, CyberGuard, WatchGuard).
*
Infrastructure Design and Technology Planning: system selection and sizing, capacity planning, high-availability and disaster recovery design, systems management tools (e.g. SNMP, BMC products, HP OpenView, CA Unicenter, IBM Tivoli Enterprise), power and cabling, storage area networks (SAN), Email (SMTP, POP3, IMAP), etc.

Experience with Internet technologies and standards (HTTP/HTTPS, XML, XSLT, WML, HTML, WAP, SVG, TCP/IP, SOAP, Web Services, WSDL, UDDI).
*
Emerging standards and technologies (e.g. Service-Oriented Architectures, web services, wireless technologies, collaborative computing, model-driven architectures, adaptive architectures, etc.).
*
Experience with at least one application or integration server platform (IBM WebSphere, BEA WebLogic Server, iPlanet Server, SunONE Integration Server, Microsoft BizTalk, SeeBeyond, etc.).
*
Middleware (MQ Series, CORBA, SOA Suite, etc.).
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Typical responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
* Develop architectures, frameworks, processes and procedures in support of the overarching IT strategy as well as its specific programs and solutions.
* Analyze and evaluate alternative technology solutions for a wide variety of infrastructure and technical architecture requirements.
* Review application and program design or technical infrastructure design to ensure capabilities, fit, function and to recommend performance improvements.
* Provide mentoring, technical guidance, and development of knowledge and skills for their team.
* Responsible for developing and implementing the technology strategy/blueprint for specific technologies (i.e. B2B Infrastructure).
* Researches developments, techniques and trends in assigned technology area(s) and determines relevance for the organization.
* Evaluates performance of new technologies and recommends changes to improve operational effectiveness.
* Ability to understand the business goals, strategies, directions and requirements of our end-users, translating them into requirements for the supporting application, data and technicalarchitectures.
