Position Overview/Summary:
The Entry Level Machinist will utilize manual machine lathes, mills and grinders to fabricate and repair various components of D-R and Non D-R reciprocating and rotating compressors. Ensure that all projects are completed safely, correctly and meet or surpass all customer expectations. Follow and promote all safety and quality directives in support of Dresser-Rand's commitment to being the industries Premier Service Provider to our clients.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required:
* High School Diploma or GED
* A minimum of 2 years practical experience or trade school completion.
* Ability to maintain and hold tolerances up to .0005"
* Ability and knowledge with utilizing standard inspection and precision measurement instruments.

Must possess experience in the reading of equipment drawings and basic and machining math skills.
*
Provide personal tooling and measuring instruments required for general machine shop use.
*
The proper use of PPE while utilizing all tooling and machinery required in all phases of the inspection and repair of equipment
Preferred:
* Experience with Horizontal boring machines and cylindrical grinders
* Demonstrated capabilities to operate multiple manual machine tools including but not limited to standard and vertical lathes, & mills
* 3 years of job related experience or completion of Basic Machining Technical Training
* Basic computer and software skills. (MS Word and Excel) a plus
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
* General knowledge of blueprints/blueprint reading and general machining tolerances.
* Ability to select proper cutting tools and parameters for various material alloys.
* Ability to solve set-up and tooling problems with minimal technical supervision.
* Above average written & verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare factual job reports and/or sketches of work performed.

Operate multiple manual machine tools including but not limited to standard lathes, mills and surface grinders. Horizontal mills and vertical lathes a plus.

Must be able to machine new or repaired machinery components (Includes in detail set ups and machining of ID’s, OD’s, Threads, Grooves, etc. and holding tolerances up to .0005”
*
Performs minor mechanical and assembly work.
*
Keeps equipment, tooling, and work area clean, orderly and secure.
*
Willingness and ability to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as required
*
Strong familiarization with all common industry safe practices and procedures
