Position Overview/Summary:
Lead day to day operations of three copy draft staff, manage work flow inputs and outputs in conjunction with project leadership and engineering teams. Develop error free drafting process through continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new technologies implementation.
Generate control system hardware designs and AutoCAD drawings in a collaborative, team-based project environment. Work under the technical supervision of I&E and application engineering personnel.
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):
Required:
* Two-year degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
* Minimum 3 years relevant experience with electrical/controls design and drafting
* Demonstrated drafting competence with latest version of AutoCAD Electrical
* AutoCAD Inventor or other ability to model designs.
* Point to point wiring schematic development.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Familiarity with international electrical and instrumentation symbol standards, such as ISA and IEC
* Familiarity with general purpose and hazardous area designs
* Knowledgeable of industry standards and certifying agencies, such as NFPA, NEMA, CSA, UL, etc.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
* Customer focused
* Ability to consistently meet project schedule and budget commitments in a team-based project environment
* Design and draft control system documentation/drawings, such as Control System Layouts, Panel Fabrication Details, Nameplate Details, Electrical Schematic Diagrams, Instrument Loop Diagrams, Pneumatic Schematic Diagrams and Terminal Block Layouts
* Generate accurate and detailed control system hardware designs primarily from Configure to Order (CTO) engineering standards
* Ability to assist in the specification and selection of electronic components and instrumentation typically utilized in control systems
* Knowledgeable of enclosure internal and external layouts
* Review and insure compliance with customer and OEM functional design specifications and P&ID’s
* Insure compliance with industry standards and certifications
* Contribute to organizational Process Innovation (PI), standardization, and cost reduction initiatives
* Generate and follow engineering and drafting “Best Practices”
