Position Overview/Summary:

The Repair Mechanic I, by inspecting, disassembling and assembling, safely and efficiently services, maintains, repairs and overhauls Dresser-Rand (D-R) and non-nameplate equipment. Duties include,Disassemble, Inspect,Cleaning ( Including Sandblasting) & Assembling all equipment and sub-assemblies.
Provide parts list and recommended repair procedures as required. Follow Standard Work Procedures and Policies.Provide complete inspection package.Utilizing calibrated measuring tools
Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

Required:
* The legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
* The successful completion of A.C.C.S.C.T. accredited mechanical vocational program or High School diploma or equivalent.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience troubleshooting, repairing and adjusting Dresser-Rand and non-nameplate reciprocating compressors, steam turbines and turbo-machinery.
* Willingness and ability to successfully complete the Contractor Basic Annual Certification.
* The willingness and ability to work irregular hours, including overtime.
* The willingness and ability to travel up to % of the time domestically, with some international travel, for up to 90 days at a time, many times on short notice, in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
* Ability to read & interpret general assembly blueprints and work to general tolerances.
* Ability to use precision measuring instruments to 0.001" and simple hand tools.
* Ability to understand and follow management and supervisory directives.
* Ability to be attentive to tasks at hand and move to the next task
* Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
* Ability to add and subtract all units of measure including time, volume, weight and distance.
* Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
* Ability to use measuring instruments and simple hand tools
* Possession of a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
* The ability to routinely lift at least 25 pounds, as required to perform essential functions of the position, for up to eight hours with or without reasonable accommodation.
* The ability to lift up to 50 pounds periodically, as required to perform essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
* The willingness and ability to personally supply and use all tools on the following list:

(A)Combination wrenches 3/8" through 1-1/4"; (B) ½" Drive Sockets 3/8" through 1-1/4"; (C) ½" Drive Ratchet; (D) ½" Extensions 1-3", 1-6", 1-12" and universal joint; (E) Crescent Wrench – 8", 10" or 12"; (F) Standard Channel Locks - #430 2" Jaw; (G) Gasket Scrapper; (H) Hammer – 1lb ball peen; (I) Pliers -- (1) needle nose (1) diagonal cutters (1) tin snips; (J) Screwdrivers – flat tip and Phillips; (K) (2) chisels, (2) punches and (1) Heel bar; (L) 6" Wet Stone; (M) Hacksaw and extra blades; (N) Flashlight and batteries, (O) Inspection mirror; (P) Magnetic Pick Up Tool or Fingers; (Q) Set of Allen Wrenches 1/16" through 3/8" by 1/32"; (R) Feeler Gauges set of each - 4" and 12"; (S) Set of 8" Dividers; (T) Quality Tape Measure at least 12’; (U) Pipe Wrench – small 10" – 14"; (V) 0" to 1" micrometer or 6" dial calipers

Possession of an NCCER certification in good standing.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:

*
The qualifications for this position include but are not limited to; 3 to 5+ years experience and knowledge rotating & reciprocating equipment including Steam Turbines, Centrifugal Compressors & Reciprocating Compressors.
* Must have good written & verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare factual job reports and/or sketches of work performed
* An expert in operation of parts and how to adjust and obtain proper clearances and functioning.
* Follow the directions and work orders of the Master Mechanic on site to complete assigned maintenance tasks.
* Consult with Master Mechanic on job progress.
* Arrive daily at the job site on time and prepared to complete tasks.
* Perform and submit daily safety audits.
* Champion Dresser-Rand on-site safety policies.
* Exhibit responsible and in a professional behavior with Dresser-Rand personnel and client contacts.
* Dress appropriately for daily tasks, dressed in Company-supplied coveralls.
